Putting Nigeria's first electric ride-hailing fleet on the road

Problem

Nigeria's ride-hailing market runs entirely on petrol, leaving operators exposed to fuel price volatility and eroding driver earnings. Meanwhile, no existing platform could handle EV-specific logistics: charging stops, battery range limits, and charger availability.

Approach

Designed and delivered a full digital launch — a booking app (Android and iOS) paired with a conversion-focused marketing site. The app incorporates charger-aware routing so drivers see available stations along their route, while riders see transparent eco-friendly pricing that reflects the lower running costs of the EV fleet.

Outcome

eRide became the first operational EV ride-hailing service in Nigeria, with a growing fleet of electric vehicles and charging infrastructure across Lagos. Drivers report significantly lower daily operating costs compared to petrol alternatives.
